النسب 

تنسب إلي بني عبد مناف بن هلال بن عامر بن صعصعة، وهي أخت ميمونة بنت الحارث من ناحية الأم، التي تزوجها رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم فيما بعد ، بعد وفاتها رضي الله عنها وأرضاها

زواجها قبل رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم 

تزوجت من الطفيل بن الحارث، أو الحصين بالمدينة، وقال ابن الكلبي : كانت عند الطفيل بن الحارث ، فطلقها ، فتزوجها أخوه عبيدة ، فقتل يوم بدر شهيدا، وقيل كانت زوجة لعبد الله بن جحش، أخو السيدة زينب بنت جحش وابن عم رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم. 

نبذات من حياتها قبل الزواج برسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم

دورها في موقعة بدر – رضي الله عنها وأرضاها - 

وقد قامت السيدة زينب بنت خزيمة -رضي الله عنها- بدَوْرٍ بارز مع نساء المسلمين في موقعة بدر، في خدمة الجرحى وتضميدهم، وتقديم الطعام والماء لهم، وقد استشهد زوجها عبد الله بن جحش

لقبت قبل زواجها برسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم 

أم المساكين: لرحمتها إياهم ، ورقتها عليهم، وكثرة إطعامهم 

الزواج المبارك من رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم 

زوجه إياها قبيصة بن عمرو الهلالي و رواهما ابن أبي خيثمة، علم النبي بترمُّلها، فرقَّ لحالها، وتزوَّجها رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم في العام الثالث من هجرته  وأصدقها اثنتي عشرة أوقية ، وكان تزويجه إيَّاها في شهر رمضان على رأس واحد وثلاثين شهرًا من الهجر ولما خطبها رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - جعلت أمرها إليه ، فتزوجها ، وأشهد ، وأصدقها اثنتي عشرة أوقية وكساء وروى الطبراني برجال الصحيح عن ابن إسحاق - رحمه الله تعالى - قال : تزوج رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - زينب بنت خزيمة الهلالية أم المساكين، تزوجها  رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قبل أن يتزوج أختها لأمها ميمونة  في رمضان على رأس أحد وثلاثين شهرا بعد حفصة . قال ابن سعد : ماتت قبل أن يتزوج النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أم سلمة وأسكن أم سلمة في بيتها،  وقيل أنها – رضي الله عنها -  لم تلبث عند رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إلا يسيرا وتوفيت بالمدينة ، والنبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - حي ، وقد مكثت عند رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - ثمانية أشهر ، وقيل : شهرين وقيل : ثلاثة . والصحيح أنها ماتت في ربيع الأول ، وقيل : الآخر سنة أربع ، ودفنت بالبقيع - رضي الله تعالى عنها - وقد بلغت ثلاثين سنة أو نحوها . 

وفاة السيدة زينب بنت خزيمة رضي الله عنها وأرضاها 

تُوفيّت أم المؤمنين زينب بنت خزيمة -رضي الله عنها- في المدينة المنورة في شهر ربيع الأوّل في السنة الرابعة من هجرة رسول الله -صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم-، وكانت تبلغ من العمر آنذاك ما يقارب ثلاثين سنة، وقد دُفنت في البقيع

روي عن محمد بن عمر قال

سألت عبد اللّٰه بن جعفر: من نزل في حفرتها؟ فقال: إخوة لها ثلاثة. قلت: كم كان سنها يوم ماتت؟ قال: ثلاثين سنة أو نحوها.

Her Name

Zaynab bint Khuzaymah al-Hilaliyyah

Her Lineage

She is descended from Banu Abd Manaf ibn Hilal ibn Amir ibn Sa'sa'ah. She was the maternal half-sister of Maymunah bint al-Harith, whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) later married after her death (may Allah be pleased with her).

She was the first of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to die during his lifetime.

She was the first of the Prophet's wives to die during his lifetime

Her marriage before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

She married Tufayl ibn al-Harith, or al-Husayn, in Medina. Ibn al-Kalbi said: She was married to Tufayl ibn al-Harith, who divorced her, and then his brother, Ubaydah, married her. He was martyred at the Battle of Badr. It is also said that she was married to Abdullah ibn Jahsh, the brother of Zaynab bint Jahsh and the cousin of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Her role in the Battle of Badr (may God be pleased with her):

Zaynab bint Khuzaymah (may God be pleased with her) played a prominent role with the Muslim women at the Battle of Badr, tending to the wounded, bandaging their wounds, and providing them with food and water. Her husband, Abdullah ibn Jahsh, was martyred.

Before marrying the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

 she was known as the mother of the Poor because of her compassion, kindness, and generosity in feeding them.

The Blessed Marriage of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace

He married her to Qubaysah ibn Amr al-Hilali, and this was narrated by Ibn Abi Khaythama. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, learned of her widowhood, and he felt compassion for her. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, married her in the third year of his migration and gave her a dowry of twelve ounces. He married her in the month of Ramadan, thirty-one months after the Hijra. When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, proposed to her, she entrusted her affairs to him, so he married her, had witnesses, and gave her a dowry of twelve ounces and a garment. Al-Tabarani narrated with reliable narrators on the authority of Ibn Ishaq, may God have mercy on him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, married Zaynab bint Khuzaymah al-Hilaliyyah, the Mother of the Poor. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, married her before he married her maternal half-sister, Maymunah, in Ramadan, thirty-one months after Hafsa. Ibn Sa'd said: She died before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Umm Salamah. He housed Umm Salamah in her home. It is said that she (may God be pleased with her) did not stay with the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) for long, and she died in Medina while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was still alive. She stayed with the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) for eight months, or it is said two months, or three. The correct view is that she died in Rabi' al-Awwal, or it is said, Rabi' al-Thani, in the fourth year (of the Hijra). She was buried in al-Baqi' (may God be pleased with her), and she was thirty years old or thereabouts.

The Mother of the Believers, Zaynab bint Khuzaymah (may God be pleased with her), passed away in Medina in the month of Rabi' al-Awwal in the fourth year after the Hijra of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him). She was approximately thirty years old at the time, and she was buried in al-Baqi'

It was narrated on the authority of Muhammad ibn Umar that he said

“I asked Abdullah ibn Ja'far: Who lowered her into her grave? He said: Three of her brothers. I asked: How old was she when she died? He said: Thirty years old or thereabouts.
