The story of Abdullah bin Maktoum - may God be pleased with him - with the Messenger of God
God Almighty says
He frowned and turned away (1) because there came to him the blind man (2) And what do you know? Perhaps he will be purified (3) Or be reminded and the reminder will benefit him? (4) As for him who is self-sufficient (5) then you attend to him (6) And there is no blame upon you if he does not purify himself (7) And as for him who comes to you striving (8) And he fears
(9) then you are distracted from him (10)
A change and a frown appeared on the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he turned away because the blind Abdullah bin Umm Maktum came to him seeking guidance. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was busy inviting the leaders of Quraysh to Islam. What would make you aware of the truth of his situation? Perhaps by asking him your soul would be purified and cleansed, or he would gain more consideration and respect. As for the one who no longer needs your guidance, you would expose yourself to him and listen to his words. What would you do if he did not purify himself from his disbelief? As for the one who was eager to meet you and feared Allah for failing to seek guidance, you would be distracted from him. It is not as you did, O Messenger. This Surah is an admonition to you and to everyone who wishes to learn a lesson.
A Look at the Holy Verses

What does the word "frowned" mean?
He clenched his fist in resentment.

He turned away and retreated, meaning he turned his face away and moved away.
We learn the following from this story
As we walk through life, we treat each other according to our social status
Everyone in front of us has a high status in society, we elevate and honor them, and we address them with great politeness.
If the other person has a lower social status or is a simple person in society, we treat them with contempt, or we do not give them the right to listen carefully, offer assistance, or care.
In this story: God Almighty rebukes and reprimands His Messenger for this treatment of anyone.
The Messenger should not be like us, for we deal with others according to our social status.
2- Abdullah ibn Umm Maktoum: He was blind, meaning he had special needs. God Almighty was the first to call for the rights of people with special needs from above the seven heavens—if that's the right expression.
3- Note the use of the word "Abasa" (frowned). He frowned between his eyes, expressing dissatisfaction. This man was blind, so, he didn't see this frown. However, he blamed and rebuked the Messenger of God. Why?
He didn't see him. Perhaps the Companions around him saw this situation, and the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) is a role model for us. If the Messenger of God had done this with the blind man, they would have been more deserving of it if they encountered someone with special needs.
4- It was a message from God to the Messenger of God, and after him to all people, on how to deal with someone differant than you in any aspect. It indicates:
· Humility,
· Not underestimating the weak,
· Caring for students of knowledge, regardless of their condition.
